This year Hope Worldwide Canada, West Church is focusing on children and teens in need in our own local communities. We will provide children and teens at The Salvation Army Shelters at Dundas Street, Mississauga and The Salvation Army Shelter for Abused women and children in Brampton with hope, joy and let them know that they are valuable, loved and remembered, especially over this Christmas Season.

The program is called 'Gift Bags of HOPE'.  With this program we are asking for donations of gifts, toys, gift cards and/or cash (which HOPE will use to purchase gifts), for children/teens from families who are temporarily experiencing homelessness for various reasons. This is a freewill donation.

We would appreciate donations for:

- girls and boys ages ranging from newborn infants to 12 years old.

- for teens 13-18 years old. Gift cards could be a great option. The teens are often forgotten in charitable donations, so we would like to include them!

- All donated Items should be NEW. There is no need to wrap your gift as HOPE WW Canada will supply the gift bags and volunteers will sort, pack and label these gift bags.

There are about 50+ children at the Brampton Shelter and an average of about 100-120 children at the Dundas Shelter. We would like to make a positive difference in the lives of some of these individuals and put smiles on their faces over this Holiday Season.

Your gift might be the only gift they will receive this Christmas. Please think of the joy that your donations will provide both to the recipients and to you, the donor!

We will collect these Items on Sunday, December 1st and Sunday, December 8th, before and after the West Church morning worship services (11:00am). Living Arts Centre, Mississauga.

If anyone is interested in volunteering to help with the collecting, sorting and labelling, which will take place at LAC after the services, it will require a commitment of about 2- 3 hours on each of those Sundays, please contact Delaine, Neville or Leanna by email.
